Infrared	เป็นคลื่นแม่เหล็กไฟฟ้าชนิดหนึ่ง ซึ่งเราจะคุ้นเคยเสมอ เช่น ในการแสดงแดดสังเกตได้จากเมื่อเราอยู่กลางแดด เราจะรู้สึกร้อนเพราะแสงแดดจะมีคลื่น IR (Infrared)รวมอยู่ด้วย
Infrared	ให้ความร้อนโดยการแผ่รังษี โดยไม่ต้องใช้ตัวกลางในการนำพาความร้อนเหมือนเช่นระบบอื่น เช่น Heater ใช้ลมในการพาความร้อนไปใช้งาน และ IR ยังเป็นพลังงานที่บริสุทธิ์ไม่ก่อให้เกิดมลพิษ
